PS Vita: General Discussion

Anywhere you go the PS vita is more expensive than a actual Ps3 console but is this a fair price and is it worth it?

the reason i ask is i stupidly bought the MGS:HD collection from the store but its was the PS vita version i only thought it was released for the Ps3.

so now im stuck with it as sony wont gimme a refund so the idea popped into my head maybe i could buy a ps vita but i dunnoi if its actually woth the £220 to buy it with a game

what features does it have that makes it really stand out apart from the mobile gaming side

Sony customer services won't do you a straight swap? Even though they can tell that you haven't got a Vita registered to your account? The big meanies!

If you're not already sold on the Vita (it's a portable PS3 - that's it's main 'thing') then nothing that's said here will probably persuade you. But you could buy one for long enough to play the game out, get a feel for the device and then sell it on - it needn't cost you £220. (And you should be able to get one a little cheaper than that, though I notice the price of the console has gone back up over the last few weeks.)

I think 220 is a fair price for a bit of kit like this.


And it really is very good. I am having a blast with wipeout, disgaea and gravy rush.

thats exactly what i thought too but the guy on the phone said its cause i can easily store it on another device and give it away. i stood my corner though and said its pretty un-acceptable as i cant even use the damn game and stated how i've been a very loyal customer since ps1 and im on my 3rd ps3 so they've easily made good money out of me. he then said he'd open up a case for me and send it off to head office to see what they say but he said its very unlikely to get any refund.

True but if would have to be a Vita with your PSN account on it. Sony knows whether you are using a Vita with your PSN account or if anyone else is. Obviously you're not so they should have done the right thing and at least swapped it for a code to get the PS3 version. As for the person who said there is a lack of good games there certainly isn't. It's a good console and the reason it's more expensive then a PS3 is because it's a brand new hand held console and also because relatively speaking the PS3 has been out for about six years and has over the years dropped in price. The Vita is not that far from being a portable PS3 although it has it's limitations. It's a great console if you want something to play on the go. If you shop around you can probably get a decently priced bundle with a game and a memory card. By the way you will need a memory card for sure. I think it's a great console and compliments the PS3 quite well.

Just my opinion I guess, I just really feel let down with whats on offer at present.
