Is it just me or PSVITA fails hard on launch? I had great hope's for this console. It turns out the launch was garbage.

*Broken Near App

*Syncing problems with the friend list & checking PS3 users.

*Overhyped console at the day it was announced. (turns out the sales arent that great..)

*4-5 weeks laiter, and there's still no new games announced. Only Phantasy Star Online 2 (which im not interessed in)

Looks like Sony dont even focus on their PSVITA, they focus more on the PS3. Why the heck even make it then if, it lacks support?

Near isn't broken

On the friend list you can see what your Vita and PS3 friends are playing if you are logged in to the PSN.

Here on Wikipedia you can see a huge list of games announced for the Vita. With 8 games releasing  between the Vita release date and fall.

Did anyone REALLY expect to hear of many new games before E3?

As for the "issues" with the Vita OS.  I agree it sucks we aren't persistently connected to PSN which I felt was implied would be the case.  It certainly sucks that Party Chat doesn't work with all games which DEFINITELY was implied that it would. 

However Vita is a big step for Sony.  They are new to this multi-tasking OS business, they never quite "got it" with the PS3 so I am hoping they will get there in the end with the Vita.

Also, they are busy working out minor issues and getting the PSP and PSone games working.  I think they hit some unexpected snag with the PSone emulation which has knocked everything else behind.  We also still aren't sure if the terrible events earlier in the year delayed developing some of the apps/firmware features.  All they ever said is it didn't delay the Vita launch, which was true, but it turned out that meant a launch with a few things missing.

Still compared to the 3DS launch, the Vita launch was fantastic.  For starters, there was a store from day one.  So overall while I wish Sony had nailed it perfectly, I can certainly forgive them some teething issues as long as they get there in the end.  I haven't touched my 3DS since the Vita arrived, its FAR from a failure.

As for Near, it is confusing as hell and it sucks for people it doesn't work for, but it has its good points.

For one thing its awesome to see three new people show up this week on Near in my area, either people are roaming or its yet more people who bought a Vita recently (or people only just discovering Near I suppose, a friend of mine had his Vita from launch and never turned Near on until I showed him). 

Its REALLY awesome to be adding people who live near me to my friends list, not knowing who they are or what they are like, I could make some new friends out of this.  I wish the 3DS StreetPass feature was half as useful as Near.  The only bummer with Near is the fact its going to be pretty useless for traveling once my 3G credit runs out, so its mostly something which will get used in a few specific places where you have WiFi access.

Near doesn't work for me either. So far it seems to work for just as many people as it doesn't work for. Sony are looking into it.

The Launch was pretty good considering the economy right now.

Sales are picking up more in Japan now to.

Yep near is confusing and does not work.

Had no sync problems with friends and or checking ps3 users

Every console gets over hyped before release, use your head and don't follow the hype

They will come expect more games anounced at E3 it is still early days.

Sony do focus on the Vita but of caurse Ps3 has been out longer and seems to be the main focus of the PS brand.

TBH i think Sony were rushed into launching the Vita early after all the cash they have lost in the last 12 months.

But none of that makes it a faild launch.
