Not sure I phrased what I was trying to say very well.

What I meant was that yes, Microsoft have dropped "support" for backwards compatibility, but they haven't disabled it from functioning.  However they didn't drop it to sell more Originals as someone claimed, because they stopped releasing Originals too..  Plus as I said, Originals are based on the backwards compatibility function, all games released as Originals are also bootable from the "original" DVDs too.

That is in contrast with PS2 digital releases on the PS3 which do NOT enable you to use the original DVD, as I believe each title is fully ported rather than being re-compiled and the APIs emulated (which is how Xbox backwards compatibility was done).

Ah I see.

They did not need to drop playing originals as it is all emulator (software based)

the UK PS3 was software and hardware and they dropped tha hardware so the software no longer worked.

But yeah the Ps2 digital releases have their own built in emulator

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Re: PSVita has no games (for me at least)

I actualy understand the OP's complaint and i agree, there was a number of games i wanted to get at launch that didnt actualy get launched, i have them now ofcourse but thats not the point, its kinda weird paying so much for a new bit of kit and only having one game and some AR mini-games on it.

The PSP compat thing aswell, that bugs me, ive plenty of UMD's laying about that i havnt completed. but most of all its the PS+ issue that annoys me the most. i love the Service, but i dont actualy get -anything- from it on my Vita. the mini's dont load and the PS1 games we all know about.

I can understand that Sony have other things on there plate, but i think keeping software up to date on a brand new device is important.

But that is not sonys's fault if people only buy one vita game.

I kinda understand why BWC sucks and that due to Sony wanting to sell new Vita games the same reasion they took ps2 BWC out of the PS3 as they wanted more PS3 games bought buy people who owned a ps3.

Re: PSVita has no games (for me at least)

I agree that you can't blame Sony for the lack of games as their wasn't. It's probably the best launch lime up in a long time if not in history. There were games in most genres. I agree two main ones were left out, FPS and RPG games. That said I personally bought 9 retail and 3 PSN games at launch and most I haven't even started yet. There was plenty of choice the reason what there is a bit of a drought at the moment. I suspect things will get better from June onwards though.

That's not opinion, it's fact. The Vita DID have more games available at launch than any other product.

How consoles have had AAA titles at launch?  None IMHO

But as already stated it depends how you define AAA titles.

We have a few great titles IMO

But that's it isn't it. Opinion that's why you need to do research before spending £200 plus
