Pre-Order Avatar can't be downloaded to PS Vita?

I finally got my pre-order pack codes, they all work fine but it says the avatar can't be downloaded by PS Vita, surely that has to be a mistake, a pre-order avatar that can't be used by the console the code is for?

It can be accessed on a PS3. It's just an icon of a vita for your account to use.

Actually that does look like an oversight as why shouldn't you be able to set your avatar on Vita?  It still USES avatars after all and not everyon e will have a PS3 to do it with.

 

It makes sense the Playstation Home stuff as it has no use on Vita, but an Avatar certainly should.
