I think a few people would prefer PSone support first too.
The problem though is that Sony, as always, made a big deal out of all the functionality the Vita was going to have but then delivered a small portion of it on launch. Anyone knowing Sonys history should have expected this, but its still perfectly fair to be annoyed at Sony for doing this - again.
It seems more and more manufacturers seem to think this is alright these days. Just because we expect them to be underhanded and underdeliver on their promises, certainly doesn't mean we have to be quiet about it and consider it acceptable.
To right.
I would rather have my Vita handled gaming device play my Ps1 games.
He is complaing of a expensive PSP emulator!
No symapathy should have done research before spending £215 to know it was not out at launch.
And why pay £215 when you can get SKYPE on a PC with no extra cost?
I guess lack of research
As far as asking someone to do their research. I suggest you look at Sony's Playstation Vita Applications page:
http://us.playstation.com/psvita/apps/
Correct me if I am wrong, but Skype is listed on the page, and there is no subnote stating "coming soon".
I don't know what you expect? I don't make it a habit of scouring the internet for each and every feature on a unit to see if the manufacturer is lying about something. Plus, for early adopters, there was no warning that Skype did not exist, again, I direct you to the above page.

Skype isn't a Sony product so they wouldn't be working on it in the first place. Skype is owned by Microsoft and its most like an internal development team within the Skype division itself working on it so Sony has no control over its development or release. The only involvement Sony would have is approval of the app.
levianan wrote:While I agree that the VIta is first and foremost a gaming console, I fail to see where getting skype to the unit would hinder PS1 compatibility in any way. Skype is an app, not a system compatibility layer. Although I do blame Sony for Skype's absense, I highly doubt the same people would be working on both tasks.
Honesty, they need both features.
