Something want to know with Network Pass

Hi guys, I'm a international student from HongKong. Yesterday, I bought a Wipeout 2048, but found the network pass cannot be used on my HK PSN account. Is that means the pass can only be used by an EU account?

If it is, how shall I deal with this pass? Shall I ask for a replacement? Or all I can do is to sell it an re-buy another HK pass code?

And another question, if I active the online mode with a HK pass, shall I play online with my friends who have EU accounts?

Cheers

Re: Something want to know with Network Pass

You will need to either get an EU account to redeem the code, or pay the full price again and download the game from the hong kong store.

Sorry :smileysad: Games are able to be played on any region console, but the game, PSN account and Network pass must all be from the same region to play online.

Re: Something want to know with Network Pass

When buying foreign games you need to make sure there isn't a separate online pass. Currently this only the case with Sony and EA published games. Other developers/publishers may start doing the same thing. Unfortunately the physical retail game may be region free but any online content associated with it will not work on a foreign account.

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Re: Something want to know with Network Pass

You could try advertising to see if anyone in HK wants the EU pass and will trade you their HK pass for it...

If I were you, I'd create a new account to redeem the pass so that it doesn't go to waste, and then buy from the UK store for it. (Ours is better anyway :smileywink: )

You currently reside in the UK so you're okay to make one :smileyhappy:

Yeah it is a pain for those who travel a lot.

Needs sorting out.

Re: Something want to know with Network Pass

The way the Vita is designed pretty much rules this out I'm afraid.

Sony intended on it being for a person who buys it and the games in the country they spend most time in and made for a single user. Also, the PSN account is supposed to be "one per user", so this is unlikely to change anytime soon.

Sorry :smileysad:
