Stuck/Dead pixel - What do i do?

Hi,

So after turning my PS vita on not long ago I have noticed a red pixel, I instantly thought of this as a dead pixel and was worrying, but after reading up it could be a stuck pixel.

I have tried using those tricks in making the stuck pixel fix but with no luck.

What do I do now? Do I send it back or try other things to fix this?

Also, has anyone else here had this problem?

P.s. I got this vita last week.

But I don't know if Littlewoods will take it back, also, I am worried that the memory card I have got won't work in another one and/or if my account will be locked out on another vita.

(E.g. PS3 won't allow the replacement PS vita to connect, my account being locked out due to be on the faulty vita)

Re: Stuck/Dead pixel - What do i do?

your memory card data such as game saves and game updates will be fine its not locked to a console or account only the actual software is locked to your SEN account. as long as you deactivate your defective vita and activate your replacement you will be fine and have no issues as the memory cards are not locked to a vita console. I would try and get Sony to replace your vita first as its a direct on the doorstep swap with no downtime. if you send back to the retailer then you have a wait while the fault is assessed and a replacement sent out.

Ahh, thanks for explaining it :-)

I just wish products like this would last for years, not under a week.

Well that's what you get in life I suppose.

Sorry for double post but I just found this in the support page:
Yes. The OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) touchscreen is manufactured using extremely high-precision technologies. However, while its effective pixel count is over 99.99%, the appearance of a "dead pixel" (black dots) or "stuck pixels" (red, blue, or green dots) is considered normal for this type of display.
I am not too sure if they will fix/replace the device now, oh this is great news isn't it...

all you have to do is tell Sony its visable while playing games and its annoying and they will replace it. mind you looking at your other post its a bigger issue than just a stuck pixel and obviously a major fault with the screen.
