The big list of Vita suggestions
It’s now a few days after the amazing Vita launch and I most say I’m actually impressed over both the hardware and software and there isn’t many urgent issues. You are probably wondering “why is he creating this list then”? The list isn’t made to point out issues or complain, it’s created because I love Sony and PlayStation. When PlayStation 3 launched, the console was kind of a mess and a lot has changed since the launch in 2006. Sixaxis became a Dual-Schock, ingame XMB was added and the price of the console has been halved over the years. Hopefully some of the ideas came from the PlayStation community.
Please help Sony to point out, bugs, new ides for features, improvements …
Operating system improvements
Bug: When you first start your Vita you will get a question if you want to sign up with your PlayStation Network account. This isn’t possible before your update firmware.
New feature: Add a ability to group applications to folders.
Improvement: Automatically sign into PlayStation Network, when you start up your Vita.
Improvement: Instead of automatically disabling network features when you play singleplayer games, the user should get a choice between disabling them to increase battery life or still be able to use network features like party and receive messages from friends.
New feature: Automatically sync your trophies with PlayStation Network.
New feature: Ability to make playlists for your songs.
Playstation eco system improvements
Improvement: Update the profile card with unlocked trophies from your Vita system.
Improvement: Easier to open the game card slot and accessory port.

I would like the OS to support the rear touch panel (as the facebook application). It is really much more natural to use the finger behind on the device to scroll picture when holding it ready to use the buttons on on the front.

Some things I would like to see.
First of all: A lager compatibility / liberty with the PS3 on Remote-play. Like watching DVD’s (all tough this seems to be a LAW issue … thou with the Apple products you can stream almost everything from your MAC to your IPad, IPhone and even your tv by ITV. So, why not Sony?)
Sec: HTML5! Yes, for the moment you can’t watch or follow your YouTube, DailyMotion and other Flash or HTML5 supported channels. (And I love to watch – Equals 3 on YouTube!)
Third: Apps! Lots of apps!
Ok, you might say:”The PSV is not a phone! “Or “It’s not a tablet!”. But Sony introduced the application home screen. And be honest … It’s a power house and you can really use it for a lot of things. Would even be a good commercial argument!
Look what Apple or even Samsung are doing with their devises.
And btw. I find the Apps Icons a bit big, no? Makes the home screen claustrophobic …
Fourth: Files! It would be nice to have the possibility to create files where you can put your Apps in.
Fifth: Be able to change the home screen music! It’s SOOOO annoying that I turned it of the minute I had it! Ok, I know, there are things worse in live … but it would be nice to personalize you PSV @ max!
Sixth: Music player. @ the moment it’s like the one we have in the App Music Unlimited. But why not use at least different back grounds and some dynamic once like the PS3? I love the Earth view!
Seventh: Screen Lock! With the PSP you can lock the buttons, so when listening to music you can safely put it in your pocket. This is not possible with the Vita (I know … it’s to big 4the pocket, but that’s not what I’m talking about ;p ). And when you turne it on standby … it's on standBYE bye!
Hope the next firmware update (MY B in April – Rumor has it! – See Treat: Vita Firmware V1.61 ) will make some nice changes.
Please share your ideas with us! Who knows … maybe Mr. Shuhei Yoshida (President of SCE Worldwide Studios) is reading this to!

One other thing that could be nice is to be able to reply to text messages (3G/WiFi version only)!
And what about a real GPS app. Like TomTom or Garmin (again 3G/WiFi version only)?
– yes the Wifi version / Vita Lt does not have a real GPS intergraded it calculates your position with your internet connection. Like Google maps does with your PC. Only the 3G/Wifi version is equipped with a real GPS device!

Regarding the wifi/3g dps device, you knew this before you bought the device. Why do you think it's priced $50 more? If you want these features, you should've paid the 50 bucks. Don't even think about tethering from your phone, it will not run games online.
I totally agree regarding adding folders to the games/apps. Eventually, once more games come out, it will be easy to fill it with 100 apps, games, PSP games, or Mini's. Try to fill up a 32gb card with 100 PSP games, or PSVita games, and I'd be impressed. However, sorting would be nice, and I don't mean give us the XMB, LiveArea makes total sense.
Song Playlists is a big must. Because let's face it, I don't want to have to pick and choose what songs I want to delete off an album.
Applications take time to develop, as well as bug tested. Hell I am sure there are people who would still like them to invent a MYSPACE app, an Amazon app, a Target app, you name it. But it can't be done in a day. Even porting games, the code and the textures have to work with the game. Or else Mortal Kombat and LittleBigPlanet would be out already.
Changing the starting music would be nice, I agree it is annoying. PS3 and PSP were nice because it didn't have this.
Being able to download and change your avatars would be cool. I reckon Dynamic Themes would be hard to do, but kinda interesting at the same time. At least they let you change the background somewhat.

Features I want added, some that should of been available already!
*Create folders/playlists for Music/Start menus, and name them to your choosing.
*Update the Web browser!! it's terrible, add flash/HTML5 and Java, fix the scroling bug.
*More apps like RSS, Skype, Iplayer, even random stuff like an Amazon.co.uk app!
*Option to use Dpad and face buttons to control the system, don't like having to touch the screen all the time.
*PS1 game support! should of been available at launch!
*Add ability to play at least SOME PS3 blu-ray games via remote play, or remove the whole thing!
