PS Vita: General Discussion

Re: The big list of Vita suggestions

Yes BShornock it is true that when buying the console you should know the different between the two.

Though in reality, that’s not always the cases. The 1st month when the PS Vita came out, there was no clear information about the difference between the 2, than only 3G or not (In France that is – and no need for racial jokes please. Saw you thinking there ;-) ).

Most sellers didn’t even know that the WiFi GPS is a software one and not hardware, like the 3G, and so doesn’t work when having no connection. For the 3G you don’t need ANY connection, nor WiFi neither 3G to have your GPS working. Things SHOULD B clear now after 2 mothe, but it doesn’t hurt to let the readers of this form know the difference. Some want to get informed B4 buying and this threat is a sours if information for them.

But let us not derive from the main subject of this threat – so excuse me.
Anyway, thank you for your comment!

Re: The big list of Vita suggestions

the party chat (unless its already been fixed and I'm just simply not aware) needs a bit of a stability update to prevent errors like games not playing properly or apps not working properly etc etc, second of all I think the start screen notifications should be stickers that you can peel off so you don't have to go through the slightly inconvenient process of unlocking the screen and tapping the blue button in the top right. and if the clock on the start screen was made smaller you could easily fit in some playback controls for the music player. now this might be a little bit tricky to do but i reckon it could be possible to add some sort of "classic mode" onto the vita that changes the main menu interface into an XMB that can be navigated via the hardware buttons. you could even add an option that allows users to add extra catergories to the XMB. and finally this is very minor but i think you should add an extra button onto the shutdown menu (the one that shows up when you hold down the power button) that works like the hold button on the psp except it also disables the touch screen so that if anyone is carrying their vita around and dosn't want to accidentally hit any buttons or somehow unlock the device they can just disable the screen and buttons and reenable them by holding down the power button and tapping the button to disable hold. lol i may have a gone a little O.T.T with the last idea but i just felt like mentioning them in the hope that sony one day reads this post:smileyhappy:

have a video out and ability to use a ps3 controller like the psp go

@13 The 3DS games are unlikely due to the fact that nintendo are sonys rivals but the rest seem kinda possible allthough the freeview would need some kind of mini arial attachment

@14 I may be wrong but i heard the reason the vita can't do that is due to a hardware issue but don't shoot the messenger

Re: The big list of Vita suggestions

I think the vita should have some sort of option to close all open apps like a little red cross in the top right hand corner of the screen. and a dedicated psn (or S.E.N) app for the friends, party chat and group message apps aswell as an extra app that takes you to the forums

Re: The big list of Vita suggestions

A diamond trophy, for when you've plat'd on both PS3 & PSV

which leads me to say, they need to make more games that link with the PS3 version.

Like if DUST 514 can deliver, its got potential to be the WoW of PS3/Vita,

but back to the point,

It would be good to see some big exclusives for just the PSV and/or games linked with the overall series e.g FFX 13 PS3, FFX 13-2 PSV, FFX 13-3 Both or back to PS3,

I don't know if UGA had any impact on UDDs story, but thats what Im getting at, where a owner of one or the other has to get/play the PSV version to find out what happens next..... Thinking about it, Im guessing UGA is a side story, should of made it Uncharted 4 for the PSV launch, and kept it, "exclusive-exclusive"? Lol.

Re: The big list of Vita suggestions

Couple of months in now, and I'm starting to worry. It's beginning to look like I've invested in a £250 psp emulator. The store updates mainly consist of psp game price drops. Would've been perfect about 2 years ago when the psp needed it.

Surely there should be a lot more games or apps released for the psv by now.

Anyways....

Regarding the freeview TV option. I own the very under-rated play TV on the ps3 (bought very cheaply 2nd hand). Works fine via remote play....But then again, it worked fine on the psp too!

I own the wifi only model. Does remote play work over 3g?

Browser definitely needs html5 and somebody at Sony should actually try to use it this time, so they can see how truly awful it really is.

There really should be an apps section on the store. I'm sure when Sony released this onto the 'social gaming' audience they knew the type of market they were getting into.

Skype? Youtube? What's going on? Does anybody from Sony actually read these forums or look at the Internet? PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON! - I really need to justify spending this much money on a hand held console.

Nobody's mentioned a radio app either, there was a bad radio player app on the psp, but hey..It was an app.

psone compatible? I was looking forward to replaying g-police, rc stunt copter( I liked it..OK?) or ape escape. Basically any game that required the use of 2 sticks.

What the heck....ps2 compatible? Classics are on the store now. (funny how the ps3 can miraculously emulate again, or am I being overly cynical?)

Fell short-changed on the trophy issue too. I am a bit of a trophy *****, so I'd like to see my vita trophies on my ps3 list please.

How about using the bluetooth to actually connect the psv to the ps3 as a controller? touchscreen keyboard, cameras and mic for chat, full control functionality for games (maybe using tilt controls too?)

If we cant play ps3 games via remote play (even though Sony said it would), at least we could use it to play ps3 games.

livetweet, and facebook apps are horrible. Basic at best.No photo upload on either.

Loved uncharted, super stardust, escape plan, mutant blobs and still loving everybodys golf.

Annoyed by motor storm rc and hustle kings.

Disappointed by reality fighters (definitely should've gone to wipeout)

looking forward to buying wipeout, rayman or ninja gaiden next.

I own a ZTE racer...Never heard of it?

It's a sub £50 android phone. It's awful. Old android os, clunky, slow horrible touchscreen.

I can play angry birds on it, I can watch Youtube or any format of video on it (via a downloaded app), It has a better browser (opera),I have much more control over my music (via an app), I can email on it (via an app), facebook message, upload photos, edit photos and video, look at documents, share files on my network via wifi or bluetooth, msn message, skype, tweet, etc,etc..All via apps.

So..the Ps Vita...excellent led touchscreen, rear touch pad, wifi connectivity, front and rear cameras, full tilt gyro control, dual sticks and dpad, ps3 quality gaming.

Could've either got a brand new android phone or the psv, so I went for the Brilliant piece of hardware.

Can I now do something with it please?

Re: The big list of Vita suggestions

FOLDERS!!!!! I can't believe you could make folders on the original PSP. Like "Movies" in the video folder. And even sub-folders. I was actually expecting you to be able to make even more sub-folders. I just bought a 32gb memory card and I want to be able to organize my stuff and not just have one large list.....
