Try PS Vita/PS3 Cross-Play Content for One Price

Wipeout 2048 for PS Vita

The day is approaching for you to finally get your hands on PlayStation Vita. As we’ve discussed in several previous Blog posts, the connection between PS Vita and PS3 is one of the most compelling features that sets gaming on PS Vita apart. Because we want all of you early PS Vita owners to check out the cross-platform gameplay experience, we’re offering content on both platforms for one price with the following launch titles: MotorStorm RC, Hustle Kings, Top Darts and DLC for WipEout 2048. Our friends at Capcom are also allowing you to share DLC across platforms for no additional cost with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for PS Vita

Here’s how it works:

  • When you buy MotorStorm RC you will be able to play it on PS3 and PS Vita at no additional cost.
  • When you buy Hustle Kings and/or Top Darts for PS Vita, you will get the PS3 versions for free. If you already own these games on PS3, you’ll be able to download the PS Vita version for free.
  • If you purchase WipEout 2048 and you already own WipEout HD and the HD Fury DLC on PS3, you will be able to download them for free when they launch on PS Vita later this spring.
  • DLC purchased for the PS3 version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 can be used on the PS Vita version for free (and vice versa).

Hustle Kings for PS Vita

As we’ve noted previously, WipEout 2048 owners on PS Vita will be able to race against WipEout HD owners on PS3 across four tracks beginning at launch, which is separate from this promotional pricing. Hustle Kings also offers turn-based multiplayer pool between PS Vita and PS3 at launch. And Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 offers the “Ultimate Controller,” an exclusive configuration in which you can use PS Vita as a controller to play the PS3 version of the game, complete with touchscreen special move selection. All of this cross-play functionality is among the unique, new ways to play that we are ushering in with PS Vita.

Let us know which games you are most excited about in the comments.

Re: Try PS Vita/PS3 Cross-Play Content for One Price

The title is misleading as it is not techinically one price as you do need to buy Street Fighter x Tekken (and the same for many other games) on PS3 and on PS Vita for the Cross-Play content to work.

Also you make your post very misleading by mentioning buying Motorstorm RC (a full game) you can play it on PS3 and PS Vita, I mean unless you read it carefully everything else is not the case as they are DLC and game features... I reckon in the future make your posts clearer and less a baiting trap.

The title is not relavant here, because the most important read in this situation is in the opening post itself.

There is no baiting trap here.  It is very clear on what it covers.

Take a deep breath laguna, the post is very clear of what it says. If there's any baiting going on, it's by the reader not actually reading what's on the page, but hoping for something that doesn't exist outside of their imagination. And while it's early days yet, and the idea/implementation of cross purchase/cross play is still getting sorted, I think this kind of thing is excellent, and should be encouraged :smileyhappy:.

Re: Try PS Vita/PS3 Cross-Play Content for One Price

Are you going to cross play with yourself??

The great thing about cross play here is simply being able to play against or with people on another platform, between PS3 and Vita.  In the past it hasn't been a simple task, they tried for it with DC Universe between PC users and PS3 users, but decided against in the end because it was too complicated and was slowing progress down.

I think the post was very clear, no baiting about it.

Re: Try PS Vita/PS3 Cross-Play Content for One Price

i think u would find that crash tag team racing both on the PSP and PS2 was also cross platform gaming. all you had to do was have the games running on the 2 systems, connect a usb lead to the 2 systems and you could race agents another person
