Ok so basically we all know the browser sucks six ways to Sunday. In my opinion, the worst thing about it so far has been the fact that it closes your games when you start it.
THE BROWSER DOESN'T NEED TO CLOSE GAMES AND IN FACT THIS ANNOYING SIDE-EFFECT CAN ALREADY BE BYPASSED .
Useful tip:
If you click a link from Livetweet or another application, it will start the browser WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAME THAT MIGHT BE RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND! You can then proceed to browse normally and the game will not be closed or affected in any way.
WHY DOES THE BROWSER CLOSE OUR GAMES, WHEN IT CAN ALREADY RUN PERFECTLY WITHOUT CLOSING ANYTHING? WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO GO TO LIVETWEET AND CLICK ON A LINK TO BE ABLE TO BROWSE WITHOUT HAVING MY GAME CLOSED?
This just adds another point to the terrible browser design and shows how hastily it was put together...
Needing to check a tip or something in-between a game happens all the time, and having to choose between browsing and closing my game (losing progress, having to reload it etc.) makes me not want to bother 80% of the time.
Right, /rantoff and I'm now off to turn it back on in the US forums where it might hopefully be noticed by someone who can make a case out of it. If I could, I'd probably do it in Japanese too but oh well.
Any thoughts on this are welcome.

Can some games work alongside the browser? By that I mean general browsing not using the browser for their own predefined sites (although I'm not aware of any games which do that on Vita, just on PS3)
That would certainly indicate that its an SDK issue and that later games specifically report that they leave enough RAM for the browser to work, whereas earlier games were lacking the functionality to tell the OS that.

From what I understand ALL games can work alongside the browser. Personally I have Uncharted, Wipeout 2048, Escape Plan and the free ones like Frobisher Says, ToM Blitz & Cliff Diving. All of them run fine when the browser is opened with the workaround (via a link from an app). Same goes for Youtube which also closes when you try to open the browser normally.
And it's not just for predefined sites, if you click any link in any other app that will open the browser you can use it as if you had opened it yourself, without implications to games.
That's what makes this so frustrating! It was always obvious specs-wise that the Vita should be able to handle this kind of multitasking. Now we actually see firsthand that it can, but for some strange reason has been designed not to(?)
Really hope they fix this, it's very annoying, and I have a gut feelin that they did it because of battery consumption. The battery life isn't amazing and perhaps this drains it faster so they didn't want people to complain. If they did that's just stupid.

No problem bud & thanks for the reference, only thing is my focus was towards the absurdity of us having to do this rather than towards the solution. Mainly in the hopes that it would get noticed and fixed sometime.
i.e we shouldn't have to go through this process to keep our games open, hence the title of the post:
UNACCEPTABLE
It SHOULD be like this by design instead of us having to use sideways means to make it do what it's supposed to and is able to do.
