PS Vita: General Discussion

Hey there,

I have had my Vita since day one and not been able to use the location function of the console. I originally thought this might be a hardware fault so sent this back to Sony but this turned out not to be the case as they could get it working their end. I got the Vita back so must be a problem with my settings here.

I am with Virgin Media and using the superhub and have had no problems with any other device (PS3. PSP etc) so was wondering if anyone here has had the same issues and if they obtained a solution... i have been looking the internet for weeks and not found anything specific to help.

have the same issue when out at my parents house with a wifi only ps vita.

the only answer i have found is If your having problems with near its mostly skyhook (an outside company that is making advanced ip address tracking (where to my knowledge unless you live in a big city you need to add your location for them to get data points)) or it could be your isp.

Didn't say what actual problem he's getting in the OP so who knows.

Difficult to imagine a goole search hasn't found it - the location issues with Vita were v. common around launch... Skyhook is an easy fix that would easily appear on an appropriate google search.

I have tried registering with Skyhook twice now, once back when i got the Vita and the 2nd time was last night and they confirmed that it had been added to the list and still getting the same issues... Getting a little frustrated with it now!

Thinking that it could be an issue with my SuperHub settings but not sure where to start lol

I had the same problem with mine from launch,

I tried loads of times at home to get it to work for 2-3 weeks

after just about giving up I took it to my parents and tried on their Wifi and it worked instantly..

Little bit miffed I got back home and it has worked at home ever since..........Unfortunately I have no explanation why it worked after doing this, but it might be worth a try to try connecting it on friends Wifi and see if this happens to yours aswell

Yeah i think that is the only option i have really to see if it will work elsewhere and hopefully like yours it will end up working on mine afterwards lol
