Ive been a die hard Nintendo fan sicnce the Nes days had all there handhelds and loved them but the 3DS does not appeal to me.3D is a gimick in my eyes.
There are no good games out for it. Its all just mario land and kart but they are the same game over and over.
I love pokemon and to my luck Black and White 2 is getting made for the DS and not 3DS so I still dont need to buy one. Sure if there was a Zelda, Metrio or F Zero out for it I would get it.(and no im not buying OOT cause its a remake).
I'm confused, if you have been a huge Nintendo fan for so long then why are you slagging off the very games which MADE those Nintendo consoles popular?
The 3D is far from a gimmick, it adds depth perception. That means when jumping across voids on Mario you aren't guessing, you can SEE how far away it is. Same for Mario Kart, although it can be problematic as after playing for a while you start to lose the 3D sweet spot as your hands get tired.
Have you even played Mario Kart 7? I never liked Mario Kart before, but this time they hit the nail on the head. EVERYONE I know who has played it proclaims it as easily the best Mario Kart game ever. I tried the demo of Modnation Racers and just had a hard time getting into it, it just didn't seem as fun as Mario Kart to me.
So I really don't get how you can claim to be a Nintendo fan if you are saying you don't like their flagship games. Why else were you buying Nintendo consoles rather than their competition?

I heard you out and what you are saying makes no sense.
They can't possibly make ALL games on Vita an entirely unique experience that cannot be done on anything else, its just impossible. The same can be said for every other portable device on the market. But with things like T@G they are definitely trying to make SOME unique experiences - they just haven't been released yet.
You seem to forget that the whole reason Sony released a portable console was to have "a home console experience on the go". They were aiming at a segment of the market which nobody had successfully tapped before, and the Vita is just an evolution of that.
The PSP delivered almost a home console experience, but was let down by a poor LCD, bad ergonomics and the lack of a second analog nub/stick. Now the Vita comes along and fixies all that, delivering a full home console experience, which IS something no other portable device can claim.
Now granted you could be right that the market segment is too small, but that is not for lack of trying and is no reason for Sony to just give up. The only alternative would have been for Sony to drop the portable console market entirely - would that have made more sense than to try to perfect what they started? Hell no.
Then you complain that the should be making games which can ONLY work on Vita by using its unique functions. Again, I think its pretty clear Sony are doing EXACTLY THAT again. What about Little Big Planet Vita? The touch screen controls in Virtua Tennis, FIFA, Super Stardust, etc. Granted they might not be a compelling reason to buy a Vita game, but they ARE being used.
