Wifi Vita + iPhone 4 Personal Hotspot = 3G Vita!!!

Most of you will probably already be aware of this but I thought it would be a handy piece of info for anyone who wasn't too sure if it worked or not.
I tried connecting my Vita to my iPhone's personal hotspot the other day while I was out and about and found that it worked perfectly! I use a PAYG sim that costs me £15 per 30 days which includes unlimited data (as well as loads of mins and texts).
Just wanted to let peeps out there know of an alternative to upgrading to a 3G or looking for a good deal on other networks. I am quite content now that I opted for the Wifi version back in Feburary!

Add me if you like!

yep most of us know this :smileywink:

Below is a Signature

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

I'll just go back to the corner and continue with my moronic chanting and crazed drooling then. :0(
LOL I thought most people would know, but if it only helps 1 person then at least it hasn't been entirely wasted pixels!!! LMAO ;0)

Actually someone seems to come along and post about this every couple of weeks. :Raspberry:

Just to point out though, that some data providers don't allow tethering and may terminate your Data access if you do this. Also, it uses a bit more data than you might expect when compared to using the phone on it's own.

Still it's a good and viable alternative to those with wifi only Vitas or those who don't have the money to fund two SIM cards. :smileyhappy:

I think with O2 it may depend on what phone and plan. If you have an iPhone on an iPhone specific plan then I think you have to pay £5 extra per month, at least that's what it was last time I checked.

Re: Wifi Vita + iPhone 4 Personal Hotspot = 3G Vita!!!

I can't comment on any other networks regarding this but I use 3 PAYG sim which I top up £15 every 30 days and I get 'all you can eat data'. I popped into my local 3 store and enquirer just how much I am actually allowed to "eat". The manager there told me that it doesn't matter how much you download, even when used as a tether, as long as the data usage isn't for anything like cracked apps, etc. I've never had my ability to use tethering limited or had any contact regarding amounts of data used - so I'm a happy chappy!
I know 3 probably would prefer it if I signed up to one of their data only plans - but why pay more? My iPhone and Vita are best buddies now! :0)
