ok nooby question, call me what you want but,, how does the 3g work? i know its for roaming etc but i mean charges payment ??? 

i have only seen vodaphone on the boxes which made me think pay as you go or contract.

I'm pretty sure you can buy it direct from Vodafone on contract. That said its probably better to buy it out right and sign up to the carrier and data plan of ones choice on a PAYG basis.

Unless things have changed over the last few months, you can't.

I wanted to do that to get mine but Vodafone decided to only offer it on PAYG.

The SIM you get in the box is Vodafone Pay As You Go.

You get 250MB for £5 and it's valid for a month. You're free to stick any SIM you like in it. Currently I'm on a GiffGaff PAYG SIM
