profile question ( USA/ UK )

i was wondering, my basic psn id is sonerone witch is an USA profile... okok mistake... anyway... i know the EU games not compatible with any USA add-ons, but my question is if i buy a game for PSV on my UK profile can i use it on my USA profile or vica versa... or the games what u buy only working on the profile where u bought on?  obviously i mean if i buy them on ps3 PSN store and transfer the game from the ps3... as i know if i use the store in the PSV there is profil locked... but how is if i transfer it from ps3

Re: profile question ( USA/ UK )

Any games you buy will work on any account from any region, but if you've imported a game from the US for example, and you wanna buy DLC from a UK account, the DLC will not work with the game.
You would have to buy DLC from a US account for any US imported games.

Again, you are able to play any games from any region on your US account, but the DLC content won't work if it's not from the matching region you bought it from.

^^ Poster is wrong.

Physical media/games are region free (although add-on DLC is region locked to game) but full game downloads are not region free because they are locked to the account on which they were purchased.

So you could not buy a game from US store and use it on UK account regardless of using PS3 (or Media Go for PSP games) to download and transfer it to Vita.

Some demos from the JP store work across accounts, most don't. There may therefore be some exceptions to the above for full games, but the only way to find out will be to try it... I doubt any Vita games will work, PSP ones might I guess (although my UK China Town Wars won't start on my US Vita account despite downloading it via PS3 and my US Persona 3 won't start on my UK account having also DL'd it via PS3)

Re: profile question ( USA/ UK )

i thought so... i already asked sony if they can change my region on this case but thay said no... that`s pity... i mean i can still buy games from US store, but i already had problems with trophies wich r needed downloadable contents... since i1m living in UK all my games r UK... if i try to download add-ons from in game store mostly it says there is no available content at the moment... sometime freez...

Re: profile question ( USA/ UK )

It's a shame but I think Sony have to enforce the rules this way otherwise they may leave themselves open to massive Tax bills and/or fines for allowing purchases without the correct taxes applied.

It would be nice if Add-on DLC was region free though - after all with a portable system there may well be times when you buy a game in a foreign country and want DLC for it when you get home... For the values involved, I doubt anyone would set up several accounts just to save a few pence here and there given the annoyance of changing accounts on the Vita.

That is not strictly true. On the PS3 the games are interchangeable and those bought on a UK account can be played on a US account and vice versa for example. The same applies to retail games. This is not the case with the PSP or Vita where digital games are tied to the account they were downloaded on. Retail games however are fine although you may not be able to earn trophies on more then one account.
