There does seem to be a lot of this sort of thing these days, people expecting things to be free. Must be something to do with growing up with the internet.

Ooh, you had a disc drive? Luxury!

I used to buy mostly compilations back in the day. Beau Jolly, £10 for 10 games on tape. Those were the days. :smileyhappy:

Re: I need a resistance burning skies online pass

No disk drive. Tape games rose from 9.99 to 12.99 later on.

Disk drives were beyond reach.

A game would cost me just under a month's paper-rounding. I used to get 4.35 a week for 6 mornings work.

Silly now i think of it.

Re: I need a resistance burning skies online pass

Ah, I remember the C64's heyday - full price games on tape were generally £9.99.

Not that I bought many games at that price! Far too expensive for me! Hence all the compilations and the wonders of Mastertronic and Codemasters and Kixx.

Plus disc drive owners probably missed out on some ace Martin Galway loading music.

Reckon we've de-railed the thread enough yet?

Pre-internet, if Iwanted to listen to a song i had to go down to OurPrice.

Jeebus... I remember those days..... same applied to getting vag1n@ (apart from buying one in a pickle jar with added brine) we actually had to go out and engage in conversation before we pounced on our victims...*Shockyface* the horror!
