Is the only difference between the 3G and Wifi the fact you can connect to a 3G data network OR is there a hardware difference, as in does the 3G get the GPS inside it and the Wifi does not?
The only similar hardware I can compare it too is the iPad where the 3G model does indeed include GPS where the Wifi just uses thwe wifi signal to determine its location.
I tried searching the internet but I have not found any official word on the matter.
& Will the Wifi only be penalised in any features or can we simply tether to the Wifi model and get ALL of the 3G Vita's features.
I have a iPhone so 3G internet browsing etc I can just use my phone.
Im skeptical about the Vita, currently I brought the 3DS and well we all know how thats been so far No Games, Delayed Features... & Now an added piece of hardware just to add another analogue stick.
Feel free to add your own opinions &/OR answer my questions,

I was under the impression that the 3G model had GPS whereas the Wifi-only model did not, however like you I haven't found any official word on the matter. As for phone tethering, I doubt the 3G/GPS features of any game would be available in that way because it would be difficult to coordinate accessing the PSN etc through a phone and getting it to work properly. That's just my opinion though
I also doubt the Vita launch will be anything like the frankly catastrophic one the 3DS had. The 3DS had barely any decent launch games and seemed to be only trying to sell itself with the 3D part of the handheld, which I and many others are not really that interested in. IMO this is why Sony delayed the launch of the Vita, so that they could get a really strong group of launch games to make sure people are getting a decent console from day one, and not having to wait a few more months till they can actually play reasonable titles on it.

According to the Specifications that is posted on the official Vita page. Link to these
Only the 3G/Wifi model comes with the GPS. Just like the example you made with the iPad.
- Built-in GPS (3G / Wi-Fi model only).
-Wi-Fi location service support. "

Certainly for UK users if you can get a 3G model for less than a Wifi model then you should snap up the 3G model. Its a no brainer added functionality (albeit not widely utilised yet) for less money, and you've got no contract tie in and you can stick any SIM you like in it, or don't bother and your no worse off.

Argos have the 3G vita for £169.99 at the minute
Thats an amazing deal! I might buy a spare!
Go on WiFi owners, still bash on that the basic model is superior now lol
I just told a work colleague and he now has the 3G vita from Argos along with LBP and a 4gig card all for £169.99
Who says the Vita isn't affordable.
This deal was so good I reserved a backup Vita for myself. Seeing as my Vita is now 5 months out of Warranty having a spare at this price is probably cheaper than getting mine fixed if I drop it.
Plus I can flog on the LBP game and the 4 gig card, maybe get £10 back.
