This morning I picked up a 3G PS Vita - everything is fine and dandy, except for the 'Near' feature. I tried it with both using Wifi and 3G and in both cases I get an error saying that the data cannot be retreived.
I have enabled location in parental controls.
Any idea what is wrong?

Hi guys,
It seems that the Near issues experienced following launch have been rectified with the 1.66 system software update.
If any of you are still having problems please let me know or update this thread.

how do you turn the bluetooth off?
I have restored my vita 3 times so now my brand new vita seems to me an old piece of sh*t :(
I haven't posted in a while because since my last post I have been sending in a request to skyhook daily and adjusting the lon and lat ever so slightly. ( Cause apparently it covers a 10m radius)
Today I contacted skyhook direct, on their support contact e-mail.

Maybe if more of you guys pester them, they will decide to pull finger?

I registered the day after release...Still not working..Plus a few times since then...nothing
I couldn't see me using it that much, but I still would like to know that I can if I wanted to. That guy on twitter claiming he's going to return his Vita because Near doesn't work, is a bit of a dumbass. I bought the Vita for games, not to see what the guy 1 mile away is playing.
For anyone that has used Skyhook & it's worked since. Did you get a follow up email from them saying your Access point was added?

My WiFi-only Near started working 6 days after registering with Skyhook.
No follow up email.

Just to update you, this is an issue we are looking into at the moment. A number of users are encountering issues when starting up the Near application, in some cases these can be slightly different.
The most common appears to be the inability to find the location, and the software reverting to original location (without this working). There have also been other issues raised.
Anything you guys raise here will be fed back for us to look into, and I will update when I receive any more information on this

Sheffield, I personally had to wait 4 days.
I found the cure for an error has occured during upload to psn
do a restore settings without formatting the memory card.
During this it advised you to deactivate vita - do accept this.
after you set it up, dont start near.
get it on the network .
enable location sharing.
activate the vita for games and video again
play one game
ONLy after that start near.
this will fix the "an error has occurred message" issue with uploading the location history.
Its official, contacting skyhook direct sorts it out. 2 days ago I requested they please look into it for me. Has been working fine since this morning. Confirmation mail from Krystle at Skyhook received today.

I've also been contacted by Krystle, just waiting on her to get back to me when's it's been confirmed!
i registered with skyhook around 6 days ago, its finally working for the first time today
Skyhook update.
Was not working at my parents house last weekend when I updating Skyhook with their MAC address.
Went round to visit them today and it managed to obtain location information.
Also, for those having issues with Skyhook make sure you use the correct MAC address for your router.
If you use the cmd string I posted previously it will pick up the right one.
