How do I launch a formal complaint/get a solution to my problem

Dear Community/Mod/ Anyone

I have recently (in the last month) have had an issue with my PS Vita. After a couple of hours of the system being on; the front touch screen decides to get a bit temperamental and either doesn't recognise being touch or thinks I am touching it else where on the screen. Now, as you can imagine, it means doing anything is next to impossible.

So I contact the customer support team to help me. The nice guy on the phone tells to read out the serial number on my Vita. The only problem is due to playing with the Vita for only 6 months both of the stickers have now rubbed off (photos of which I have included at the bottom of the post). I hadn't even noticed until he told me to read out the serial number.

I was then told this voids my warranty and the best advice he can give me was to restore the system (which sadly didn't work). Now I don't blame the guy (he was nice and he was just doing what he is told to do) but I do need help in sorting this out. I am not sure how my warranty can be void if the stickers came off through natural 6 months use.

Any advice  would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Just updating what is happening. I sent a letter to Sony's Consumer Service (address is here: http://faq.en.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/842) with pictures and within a few days I was called by one of them who was going to sort it out for me. So I need to send the Vita into them via their courier so they can have a look and make sure it is a EU model. So anyone who has a similar issue just do what I did and it should get sorted

I hope they do streamline this with the support team in the near future

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

You serial number will also be on the original packaging.  Hopefully you've kept this in a safe place.

Also Vita has a specific operating window as regards to suitable temperature.  You may find in the current heatwave we are experiencing that you are using your Vita outside its optimum operating window.  Plus playing your Vita for extended periods of time (2 hours plus) will cause the Vita to get warm which may to leading to your problems.

If you find when the weather cools off (won't be too long knowing UK weather) your Vita performs "normally" again you'll know you were using it above its operating window.

The sticker on mine came off fairly soon after I got my Vita, as well. Obviously flawed design.

I was lucky in a way that I noticed my sticker coming off so removed it and have stuck it on the PS Vita box incase I needed it in the future,

I wonder if there is a way of locating the serial number by certain button presses etc as you can for mobile phones.

Hi New12,

If you want to make an official complaint you can do this through the PlayStation Support. They will either arrange for a supervisor to contact you or provide address details for you to put your complaint in writing.

Its not a problem, its just a sticker.  The same code should be on your original retail packaging.  If nothing else when you took the Vita out the box for the first time you could check you had un-opened packaging by making sure they codes matched..

The problem with that they say the warranty is voided if there is no stickers. The box becomes irrelevant because they can't match the box to the system apparently.
