If i wanna buy a second hand ps3 without the receipt,
what do i do when/if it goes bust?
Its only a few months old.
Will it still have warranty and will it be covered?
Also will i be able to buy extended warrenty for it?
will i need a receipt for continous play?
it was free wiith a mobile phone contract
In that case I'd ask the contract providers to give you some sort of receipt or proof of purchase.
You shouldn't need a receipt though to sign up for CP or to make a claim. It was only when Sony themselves were doing the free exchanges (as opposed to Domestic & General) Sony asked for proof of purchase.
I don't know if this helps but my ps3 was bought new over a year ago, and three or four weeks ago the blue-ray drive failed no disks would load. I contacted sony they only wanted the serial no of the ps3 and what shop i purchased it from, no box no receipt plus they were aware it was out of warranty (only just but it was out). The next day they sent a van to collect the console after telling me it would take 2-3 weeks (gutted ) 5 days later they sent me a text saying my console would be delivered back. Fantastic!!!!!! console back in 5 days no charge great service. so you should be ok without the receipt as long as the console is under a year old.
