Does the PS3 play wav files encoded with DTS 5.1?

I'm not getting my surround system until the new year but was interested if the PS3 could play these files or not. Has anyone tried it?

I take it bionic woman was an audio book or something or did you misread my question?

I asked if the PS3 would play a DTS 5.1 encoded .wav file.

Re: Does the PS3 play wav files encoded with DTS 5.1?

Hi,

It will play DTS when burned as an audio CD but it will not play the .wav files.
I tried a copy made with the PS3 it self and the CD was playing DTS but the copied files did not.
I Also tried a copy created with the computer, WinAmp played them perfectly with the DTS plugin, but copied or streamed to the PS3 it will only generate noise...

Maybe with an update to the fw of the ps3 but for now only DTS audio while burned as audio CD..

p.s. also DTS encoded in MP3 I could not get it working..
