PS3 Customer Service....

12 Replies 500 Views Created 14-07-2009
I've had to phone the support line twice now, but to their credit, the support line has been pretty good. I've had no lengthy hold time (maximum of about 10-15secs), they've been polite and helpful and quick to act. The first time I called (about a week back) was because my PS3 stopped reading blue-ray discs, and after a full re-install still nothing. Phoned them up, they sent me out a replacement after 4 days wait. HOWEVER! The new one arrived today as stated, the only problem being, it doesn't work. Turn it on...wait 10 seconds, then BEEP BEEP BEEP, red light flashing. Hmmmm. So I phoned them up, and they apologised for the screw up and now their sending me out a new one for tomorrow. Although this is REALLY annoying, I can't fault the customer service despite them sending me a faulty unit. They support line has got a lot of stick, so I was wondering if anyone else has had a bad/good experience recently? Have they cleaned up their act???

Re: PS3 Customer Service....

Broadly speaking they get praised on here for response times/politeness etc, of course with any customer care line there are occasional complaints on here but they are dwarfed by the positive feedback.

Re: PS3 Customer Service....

The way I have seen it go was like this.

PS3 breaks - Sony issue a replacement free of charge regardless of warranty - People love Sony customer service.

Now

PS3 breaks - Sony want £145 if it's out of warranty - People hate Sony customer service.

I might be wrong but that's generally what I see here.

Re: PS3 Customer Service....

No, there were 90% horrible per call and then ended the last 10% of the call being nice!
Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s, 3 PSPs and a Vita all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Re: PS3 Customer Service....

So generally good then? (10% of the time...lol) I checked out the forums when mine broke the first time and there were some pretty deflamatory remarks (although that was back in 06/07ish). This is why i wondered if user's views had changed...obviously not huh BrigaderA? How come you had such a bad time then? Were you out of your warranty?

Re: PS3 Customer Service....

I got my PS3 October 07, and no problem except a couple of freeze ups

Last week there was a few power cuts while I was playing,

then the other day my PS3 died, now all I get is a flashing red light.

I'm not bothered with ringing Sony cause warrantee is well over.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel, and its not a speeding train,

http://www.consolerepairs.ie/ these guys say they will fix it for a

max of 80euro. Ah well time to dust off some of my old PS2 games

in the mean time.
