Is there any way to upgrade my 40GB PS3 with a bigger HDD.

I have an external HDD that I can move some content to but I would prefer upgrading to a bigger HDD in the PS3 to keep music on there so I can use it in games.

thank you very much for the answer, great information...
not sure if I will do it though, I might just move most of my music, photos and movies to external HDD and keep a few songs for gameplay!

It's very easy to do i have upgraded my 40GB model twice now. First upgraded to 320GB around christmas 2008 and recently again to 1TB. It's definitely worth doing game installs alone can eat up 40GB very quickly.

Bare in mind if your thinking of going for a large HDD check the size specifications first. Some 720GB and 1TB SATA drives will not physically fit inside.
