How to transfer data from a fat PS3 (Wit YLOD) to a new PS3 slim or super slim

3 Replies 525 Views Created 05-10-2012

My Ps3 from 09 just got the YLOD and I'll probably send it in for repair, but I was also considering the option of just buying a new PS3 Slim or Super Slim, when it comes out, and transfering the data.

Can I transfer the data between the two consoles still even though one has the YLOD?

How do I do that if I can?

And can the slimmer models still get the YLOD?

Thanks

Not if the old model still has YLOD.

As for actually getting it, The slim consoles can but not sure about the super slim as they haven't been out long enough for it.

I had feeling you couldn't D:

When I send it in for repair is there still a chance of my PS3 getting the YLOD?  Or is it fixed for good?

Depends who you send it to and what they do with it. With Sony they're likely to give you a refurb console in exchange which will probably last a lot longer than getting your current one repaired.
