Yes it did, but i sloved it. in this way.

For all those who have this problem, that the message comes up after you reseted it.

1. Remove your harddisk.

2. Clean it.

3. Put it in again, (Just have it open so you can remove it at anytime)

4. Go into safe mode.

5. Press Restore PS3 system * Note this will delete all the content on you HDD so ensure a back up is made prior to doing this step.

6. It will start restor your system. (DO NOT SHUT DOWN YOUR SYSTEM AT THIS TIME, Its are very dangerous!)

7. Follow the steps trough your new system. (I mean New name, etc.)

8. If you followed this guide right, Your PS3 will work!

Good luck!

Re: RE: Hello, Need some serious help!

You shouldn't need to remove the hard disk, and to warn people; selecting "Restore PS3 System" WILL DELETE EVERYTHING on your PS3.

Hi Ewyk,

I have added a little warning in your solution for people to let them know the step removes data and to do a backup!

Re: RE: Hello, Need some serious help!

3 questions...

1. how do you back up your data?

2. is it possible to take the data off your HDD using an external HDD case and extracting the save game data onto your PC.

3. even if i did the above, would i still be able to use that saved game data?    Thanks

Use Backup Utility on the XMB :smileywink: You'll need a decent size of FAT32 formatted USB storage. You can find detailed info here!

Insert a HDD formatted as FAT32, and open Save Data Utility. Find your save and press triangle, choose copy and select the USB drive as the target destination. Simples!

Sure! You simply copy the data back onto the PS3 and it'll work again.
