Problem with online gaming and connection

2 Replies 3,380 Views Created 13-01-2009

I have my ethernet cable plugged in, this is supplied by the university halls, and is also my main internet connection

the university system has asked me to preregister the ps3, which i have tried to do, but when i enter my mac address it says this is not a gaming device, but it also says ps3s are compatable

I have tried to do this via the ps3 itself in the internet browser, i can get onto the registration page but again it still doesnt recognise the mac address, is their any reason for this?

I want to get my ps3 online, and i think that it is the university systems that is at fault, but is there anything i can do to get it to work?

This sounds like a network / IT issue at your university.  I'd suggest contacting the network administrator who should be able to sort it out for you.

Why don't you ask the uni IT or who ever manages the network to have look at it?
