Can you use a external hard drive for storing games?

6 Replies 557 Views Created 02-11-2012

JW, running out of space for these plus games, and otherwise is there any other way of getting more space which dont involve opening my ps3 and having to redl all my games again.

nope,

you can run through the purchase of the game so it gets to your download list, but not download it, this way you can then download later when you do have space

replacing the HDD is simple and easy to do really, you can back up the HDD before hand to ensure you dont loose much data if any

Yes.

There is but its very expensive and is why HDD install was made as easy to do as possible...

Its a Hole PS3 data swap NO downloading is required from the internet after the firmware updates .

You buy a second PS3 which has a Bigger HDD allready, aka a Slim with 500GB HDD

You then follow the instructions on transfering all content from one PS3 to a new PS3 via ethernet cable...

Once the Data transfer is complete (takes time.)

You deactivate and Full format the Old PS3 and sell the Old PS3...

You now have a 500GB PS3 HDD.

SCE did put in a system that allows people who can't redownload or are unable to hold a screw driver to upgrade and keep their content BUT you are going to have to pay for being that picky..
