Game Memorabilia Enthusiast or Hoarder?

So the other week I practically spilt my banana and strawberry smoothie all over my Fallout 3 Vault-Tec bobblehead when I saw the first pictures of the Borderlands 2 Ultimate Loot Collectors Edition.

Such extravagance and decadence, all in a wee replica chest.  It makes you think.  And that thought is normally "Am I going to have enough room for this?"

So I like to collect the odd bit of loot, I can't keep that much as home, though I do use my Fallout 3 Vault Tec lunch box as a first aid kit box.  Some of the others in here have Final Fantasy figures, Arkham City figures, the boy from Splinter Cell, wee squeezable Pac Men.  I think we all like to collect the odd bit of memorabilia.  Personally I want the clay bust from Lionel Ritchie's "Hello" video, but apparently they melted that down.

The PlayStation Blog is asking this question too and they're offering 15 voucher codes for Mass Effect 3 for those with the "wackiest games memorabilia".  All you need to do is email your photos to pspics@scee.net

But post them in here too so we can look at them all.  They've also got a Gamer's Hoard mini-game for you to play so go and check that out.  And have a look at the Terms and Conditions of the competition too, that's always important.

I would love to collect game merchendise as a bit of a hobby but the simple fact that alot of these added items and stuff come in packages and bundles that are far too expensive for me.

My 1st real wake up to this was I think it was COD MW2, where they did a bundle that came with nightvision goggles. At the time I was, admitted a bit of a COD MW fan since I did love COD MW1, but I never got them due to the price.

I'd love to have alot of the Assassin's Creed editions where they have/had amazing statues and books and such but again the launch date prices of these bundles are well over £50.

My idea situation would be to have a seperate games room in my house with a nice HDTV,PS3 and games collection, sound system etc. Then the whole room just decked out in gaming mercendise from alot of my favourite game series.

I remember seeing the Killzone 3 Helghast edition with the Helghast head thing in HMV but it was about £100 and couldn't afford it at the time, a few weeks later I went in with my Son to spend his money and there was one left at £40, good bargain but he didn't want it and I had no spare cash to buy it for myself. I could have kicked myself for missing out on that.

I still haven't got around to buying that game.

I have the killzone helghast edition which also comes with a little statue aswell as the head & driver collectors edition with the car.

But my most prized gaming goody would have to be my metal gear solid 1 dog tags.

Which also came with a t-shirt which has long since gone in the bin as it fell to bits after too much wear n tear & someone has half inched the cd of the game sound track.

I think the only collectable i have is the MW2 night vision goggles. That was purely because back then i thought cod was a great game and i was spending so much time playing it.  I would have gotten others but the problem is space. I find unless you have a gaming room theres not much point as it will just sit in a cupboard. So i work on my collection of games instead.  If i see a game for a few pounds i'll pick it up doesn't matter how bad it is.  To me it's a collectible and small enough to be sat on display.

I have a few bits of memorabilia... a PSP t-shirt in the shape of an Eagle (with the PSP as its chest) with the word "Freedom" in the PSP font below it (won off these forums!), a Resistance Fall of Man T-shirt and keyring (again off here), 2 Mass Effect 3 t-shirts (from here only the other week)... Sackboy plush from the original promotion by MediaMolecule via the Youtube/Facebook campaign (5000 distributed i think)... Sackboy keyrings (TV and SackDrake - from here again). and i think thats it...

If am being honest am not so sure lol. I got a import copy of MGS HD Collection for Christmas and completely forgot about the collectors eidtion order until I noticed £70 was missing from my bank lol.

But anhow I think there is a t-shirt and some artwork and a tin case and I think that might be it. I have and never will open it.

I have more MGS games to add but I thought it was PlayStation stuff only. I have MGS 2 for xbox and PC. MGS for PC and MGS Twin Snakes for GameCube and a metal gear game for gameboy.

Here's a few of mine:

Spyro the Dragon - Got it with one of the original releases on the PS1 (Can't remeber which one)

Sackboy - I'm sure nearly everybody has one of these, but my son loves it

Lego Joker Keyring - Pre-release bonus with Gamestop (USA) with Lego Batman

Ghostbusters T-Shirt - Pre-release bonus with Gamestop (USA)

Not as great as some of the other posts, but these are the ones i've held on to. Oh and i do have 2 full sized upright arcade games in my garage, Turbo Outrun and Chase HQ2, great for party nights............
