I know this is a really wierd question. But today I did something I have only done once in my entire life and that was I bought a game because of the box :smileyembarrassed.
So today I was walking around and found a new store I have never been into before but I know very well online witch is Bee.com. I had a quick look around and saw a box just sitting there. I picked it up and read the name Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle. I have never heard of it but I thought hmmmm that is a nice box. Then I saw the price WAS £89.99 now £29.99. I had a quick look at the back of it and then took it to the till and bought it.
Once I got home I looked up some gameplay video's and it is a game I can never see my self playing. So it is sitting there sealed and brand new with the rest of my limited/collectors edition's (yes I collect them). What is a little bit interesting is hardly anywhere sells this edition in the UK. Except for Amazon Market place and some sellers on ebay asking between £80/100 for it.
So what I want to know is has anyone here ever bought a game because the box looked nice or even looked at the back of the box and thought wow this game looks good and then went on to buy it?
Here is a picture of this ''nice'' box.
when the price dropped on the killzone helghast edition i got it :D
I have for a few games. Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Devil may cry (Dante on the cover screamed awesome :P). I looked at the covers and decided to try them. Loved them all and have played all in the series. But havent done it much this gen
Could be worth $1 Million dollars in a few years time :D
Never done that myself though :P
When I used to collect Ltd Edition etc I did yeah.
Stopped doing that a while back though.
I have never bought anything because the box/artwork looked cool. I always have to watch trailers or gameplays to see if I might like to play it and then go buy it. Better if it had a collectors edition.
Certainly back in the older days of gaming I was tempted by the box art as opposed to the graphics.
These days not so much.
