How to check storage space on PS3 ?

Hello I've borrowed my brothers PS3 for a few weeks. Can someone tell how I can check how much space is left on HDD as I downloaded a lot of trailers and demos.

Erm im on GT5 atm, so i can't check... It's under settings then system settings...:gr8:

On the XMB go to Settings, System Settings and System Information, or similar as I'm not at the PS3 now, it should have something like;

21GB / 55GB at the bottom

The first number is the capacity remaining and the second number is the capacity capable.

Highlight them and press triangle, select 'Delete'

Ok I borrowed gta 4 from the psn store I had 18Gb and it needed only 11Gb but the problem is is that it says not enought system storage and I paid for it. How does it come that I can't download it?

you need the space to download the game, and also the space to install it, so 22Gb ish.

Anyway, pretty sure you need double the space. So for an 11GB file it would need 22GB. As I would presume it needs the extra (double) space to extract and install from the file you just downloaded.

It says this info on Uncharted's Downloads, but haven't seen it on others, you basicallly need double the space.

Oh and don't worry that you have purchased it, as you say, as it will always be yours if you bought it. It is in your Download List, which can be found on the Store (top right of the screen) and in your Account Management (under transaction management).

hey guys

I'm in need of some help!!

I wanted to play NFS Hot Pursuit (the newest) and I needed to update the game to the 1.0.3 version.

Fine by me. But then I got error saying I needed 2560mb free of space to download the new version.

So I went in system info and checked free space available and it said 15xx!
Well so I went in save section and have now deleted maybe up to 30gb of used save games.

But still in system info the free space doesnt change!

And I have the newest system update of my console as well.

Please reply!

30gb of game saves? Are you sure?

You need to delete game data rather than saves as they take much more space up.

hi ps3 its going great the only down side is that i cant play gta 5 because of my storage but i formated the system even restarted the ps3 and it doesnt work HELP SONY !!!!!

Just go to system settings from settings section of the home menu, then scroll down until you find system information, then press x and you'll find how much free space is available
