Hey guys,

after this maintainance there is a way to deactivate ps3 and psp systems via pc. Note that you can only deactivate all via pc once every 6 months via pc so be careful.

To do this,

Go to http://store.playstation.com/login.gvm and click on Manage Account

This will take you to the Sony Entertainment Network Account Page

Log in and click on account at the top

Now click on Devices and media and then click on the down arrow on game and click deactivate all

Read the message carefully and click OK

All PS3 and PSP devices for Game are now deactivated

Now run over to your PS3 or PSP and activate for game as normal

Job Done!

You deactivate all machines on the Qriocity website. You then activate the machines you still require via the machines themselves (e.g. PS3 : Account Management>System Activation etc.).

On Qriocity website, sign in, select the Account panel at the top, then Media & Devices on the left and then 'Game' in the boxes.

Its the OP' instructions there not quite clear.

After you have signed into the website click the ''Account'' tab then go to ''Media and Devices'' on the left hand list. There are 4 boxes click the little drop down arrow on the ''Game'' box which will present you with the option to deactivate ALL PS3 systems ;)

Then just start your PS3 and reactivate it in account management.

tis a bit confusing as you cant tell which PS3 is which, so theres not much of an advantage doing them seperately (though its a nice option to have :D).

but as said, you can just use the option to deactivate all of them instead and then reactive the one youre using now, which is uber helpful.

turns out i have 3 activated, but i only use one :o (guess Sony never deactivated my broken ones lol).

Perhaps letting us see at least the date of activation for the current devices would have been enough to know what we are deactivating but, no, things can never be simple with Sony.

Also, if I understand what people are saying, to deactivate a broken PS3 you must deactivate everything and then re-activate your working PS3 and you can do this only once in 6 months. User-friendly... not!

Its hardly a chore to just deactive the lot then reactivate the one(s) that are working.

Well I'm happy now my dead 40gigger is now resting in peace :)

Awesome, I can finally deactivate my old broken ps3's. Too bad it comes at this cost, but I'm fairly happy I don't have to contact customer services over this. Some of the guys working in the Dutch CS are really douchebags. Can't speak for all of them, but everytime i've been in contact they've been less then customer friendly. So kudo's!

1) given the "once in 6 months limitation" I think most people would like to avoid the "deactivate all" function

2) It is still not very logical to offer deactivation for single devices and then making it impossible to tell one device from another, don't you think?

Below is a Signature

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Right,

Is there no way of telling which is which? I have 3 'activated' systems.

I know 2 of them are just when I have signed in on my friends PS3s as my username.

I have changed my password, so they can't access it, but should I deactivate them?

If I get them to delete the user, does that work?

As I said, I have signed in and it shows 3 devices.

Which are the other ones?

Am I correct in thinking the 1st one, is my device? As I have only ever had 1 PS3.

Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Not at the moment

Probably a good idea, it frees up activations for you

If I get them to delete the user, does that work?

No, they have to log in on the user and deactivate via Acc. Management unless you use the point below.

Am I correct in thinking the 1st one, is my device? As I have only ever had 1 PS3.

It's hard to tell, why not deactivate all via the site and simply reactivate your personal PS3?

Yeah good point on the last bit.

This doesn't affect my current PS3 in any way does it?

I noticed the device names part and it says this is the name you give in Account management.

I am then wondering, if I go into my PS3 later and change the device name to say, Original.

Will it update on the SOE website and then I can identify my current device.

Thanks for the quick reply fski.
