Those of you that are lucky enough to own a PlayStation Slim, when you bought it, you may or may not have noticed a guide that was included in the box, 'The Quick Start Guide'
So, what we want to know is...
- Do you know what it is? Have you read it?
- If yes what did you like about it? What did you dislike?
- What would you improve about it?
- Should it take another form such as digital etc...
- And any other feedback they'd like to give.
Any feedback would be gratefully received!
Much love, Vissy <3
like many on here I had a phat PS3 beforehand, so never even looked for a manual it may still be in the slim box in the loft
*looks under the bed at PS3 box*
Nope, not got that in mine, only the instruction manual. But then I didn't need to look at the instructions to connect my Spectrum all those years ago when I was about 7 so I'm sure I can ''quick start'' my new Slim (my second PS3).
The only time I ever need the instructions is for those awful flat pack furnitures you get from Argos, that fall down anyway :D
With any electronic gadget the fun is in learning yourself, and by being able to notice that cables are shaped differently for a reason, and what a power button icon looks like ;)
EDIT: I do miss the demo discs you used to get with the PS1 & 2 :(
This is pretty annoying if you ask me. Everything that's wrong (not saying it's bad, I love it) with the PS3 or has been wrong or features people really want. And yet they are asking about a manual inside the box. How about making stuff easier like the new deactivation site were there is a button to deactivate a single PS3, yet it doesn't work and also you can't deactivate your video service. Maybe when stuff like that is sorted, then you can start improving manuals that probably 90% of people don't even read.
First off... great post. Sony should start concentrating on things that really matter; but that's a different department. This department that's debating whether to include the quick start up guide; shouldn't be considering it at all because the PlayStation features, change all the time, same goes for the telephone numbers. So it would be impossible to update the manual once the consumer has it. you could have simple set up instructions printed directly on the back of the PlayStation box. I like the idea of going into the XMB and looking at the manual from there, cos it's updated all the time and you don't have a hard time dealing with translations and copyright instructions.
A manual you say.........hmmm.. I probably stuck it straight underneath the PS3 to keep it cool(air gap) due to my phat overheating all the time.
Never noticed it or saw a need for it I know how to set a PS3 up considering it was a replacement for my launch fatty. (it's not exactly rocketscience in the first place to be fair)
LATEST PLATINUM: 3D Dot Game Heroes
I never read instructions. Plus, I had the fat PS3 before so I knew all I needed to know.
If you did not buy the 320GB model. You will not have had the guide.

no quick start guide with my 320gb slim purchased october 2011 does this guide mention how to turn off the cracking sound feature when switching on and off my shiny slim or how to disable ylod feature for future slims, if so send me a copy , i thankyou for your co-operation.
The cracking noise is normal on the slim models. It's just the case expanding and contracting.
Quick Start Guide?
Mine came with the instruction manual on my CECH-2103A. Please publish the guide on the ps3 manuals section of the website that will be helpful thanks.
My PS3 is very healthy and happy :smileytongue:
