Who has sent their bad controller in to be replaced by Sony? We ended up just buying a new one. But plan on sending the bad controller back to Sony.
Looks like it is only a 1 year warranty...This is BS because it is a known common issue.
Its a 2 year warranty if you are in Europe or States. I had mine replaced in its second year of warranty. Dont miss out on your rights :)@pw1SRT
Sony told me it is only 1 year. Not sure where you are getting this 2 year information. I am in the United States. Link to said information or who to call? Thanks!@theycallmetej
I noticed this issue first time I used my ps4, but it was quite subtle, now about a year later it's a real pain in the , move to forward is completely dodgy, using L2 trigger is even better to move to forward, I reset it a lot but it just doesn't works, besides this look like a mapping issue (Sony's bad), so I think sony MUST to fix this via usb updating ds4 controllers/software and remapping correctly In case they can. Meanwhile my ds4 is a fancy paperweight.
I guess so, either way it's a sony's must to fix all these ds4 out there, at least to keep a real customer service.@el-ve
Sony fix this problem! I have looked everywhere online so far and nothing works.... my controller is physically fine there is no damage, it hasn't been dropped or anything and there is no reason for this malfunction what so ever. i have happily owned my ps4 slim for over a year until it did this out of the blue and have been a big sony fan since ps1.. i can't play anything properly now. this problem is over year old too? Where are you for your loyal customers Sony? I didn't buy a ps4 so i could just look at it or use it for netflix.. it pains me to say but if Sony doesn't resolve this issue i will be throwing my ps4 in the trash and getting a nintendo switch... also I WILL NOT be getting the ps5 because who knows what else will go wrong with it and Sony just won't care because they have your money already...
They get more money. Owner has to buy a new controller for around $45 US shipped.I bet they knew about it.
i have the same problem have bought new trigger buttons still no change not happy
I have the same issue, But mine goes UP.
- New controller
- All games (even in PS menu)
Tried all Resets and Safe modes, even used compressed air inside the L2 stick, nothing happened.
I threw my controller and the l1 button hit something hard and it feels different to press now but if I press l2 it triggers l1 instead
I just tried the "blow in the L2" method and it seems to be working for now. Anyone who has had an optical mouse or a trackball may remember having to pick out lint or clean dust from dirty sensors. What surprises me the most is, if it's just a dirty sensor, the malfunction is incredibly consistent in it's effect.
I really found this annoying but finally fixed it the first thing I did was blow into the L2 and at first nothing happend then I noticed that the L3 lag was fixed after that I then went to Devices and clicked controllers in settings menu and went down to communication method and then kept on pressing on bluetooth and went back in game and it worked hope it works for you two don't know if it's permanent tho
Same here :/
no fix so far
@Sony, what are you doing to help your customer?
Hell, I had same problem with ds3 before and now with ds4. Once I hit it hard on the ground and problem was solved... yeah, 4 few days, lol. I ve read that motion sensor might b resposible. SONY goddamit, you wont fix this ***** and im getting Switch next year. So long.
I had the same problem as described by OP. Also the left joystick was glitchy for upwards. It seems to me that those 2 errors are connected. I dissasembled the controller. Removed the wiper of the y-axis poti and cleaned it with vinegar and cleaning alcohol. Then wiped all buttons (including those at L2) and connectors with q-tips with cleaning alcohol. After assembling everything works as brand new now. Will update if error occurs again.
