I have an interesting problem with my panasonic tx-50A400B model tv which up to a few days ago worked fine with my ps4.
I now only get sound but no picture with both my ps4 and my friends ps4 using hdmi 1. both ps4s work on other TVs. This is the case when I start in safe mode and when I start normally so it is not the resolution issue. Interestingly if i use hdmi 2 with ps4 I get a no signal message.
Both hdmi ports on my tv work fine as I am able to connect using a laptop or xbox, infact it works if i connect my ps4 through my friends xbox.
I have tried
different hdmi cables
factory reset on both tv and ps4
checked for updated firmware
Tried to power off the ps4 using remote play to refresh the handshake
Unplugged/replugged the various cables into ps4 and tv
all no luck... anyone have any ideas?
Did you rebuild the database as well?
Your PS4 still have warranty? You should contact the assistance, if the problem persists.
yep tried rebuilding database after factory reset, took 8 seconds so assume it had been done as part of factory reset. PS4 still has warranty but If i send it to sony they will plug it in and say it works with no issue. on the basis my friends ps4 doesnt work on the tv im thinking it has to be something to do with how the tv is receiving the ps4 signal when compared to the xbox/laptop. Interestingly when I changed the resolution on my ps4 to 1080i as advised by panasonic retailer under a normal boot the tv stil thought it was receiving a 480p resolution, changed the ps4 to match the 480p but still no picture.@InSight_2k
No need to send the console, just try to contact Sony about this issue.
Maybe they know if there's a solution.@Murchy1337
Same issue happen to my, my TV is LG 32LH570D, no picture showing but have sound coming out. i tried on my friend TV it work perfectly fine. it suddenly happen, previously it work fine. please help for any solutions
It's possible there's a HDMI handshake issue with the TV.
Switch off the TV and disconnect the TV from the mains power for at least 5 minutes and try again.@woden_83
