hello i just updated to the new system software and i can't install it because of this error code.

did anybody get this error code too?

Remove System Software Update job from Notifications > Downloads first. Then try below. 

  • Go to Settings > System Software Update and then try [Update Using Internet].
  • Go to Settings > System Software Update and then try [Update from USB Storage Device].
  • Try [Update Using Internet] from Safe Mode.
  • Try [Update from USB Storage Device] from Safe Mode.

 

Otherwise if you’re still receiving this error after updating your PS4 then please contact PlayStation Support for further help.

So, there you go everyone, it's being fixed and will hopefully be in by the end of the week. 

This dude was the best support I had gotten so far, and even he got rekt by the error.

(But I'm gonna miss Iron Banner FML)

If I had a dollar for everytime, a "customer service" rep gave that line of we are having the same issues. I'd be rich, it's just a tatic they used to keep people at ease and give false hopes. They are dicking people around in hopes, they void their warranties opening their ps4s or the warranties run out on enough ps4s to cut their costs down on a defective product they sold. Like I mentioned before even if a patch does come out, its a bandaid that will only work for so long. A later patch will likely cause the same issues but by than, all the warranties on the ps4s subject to the blueray defect will be over, leaving you with a brick again and only option to buy a new one, or pay to get it fixed. Either way they are f@#king the customers over.

Dude, this is just ***** *****. There's 0 RESPONSE FROM SONY. 

 

They just gave up, and they don't roll back the update to 4.74? They NEED to test this ***** before release. ***** the beta, they just need to stop updating PERIOD. *****, man. This is pointless. There's nothing to say, and it's one week already? ***** this, man. I'm switching over to Xbox. They have ***** service too, but at least I can ***** play online and ***** dude. ***** Sony, I give up on this.

Soooooo, Sony PlayStation just CALLED. At first I was skeptical, but there was no pressuring for anything. The man asked what error we were having and what we had done to troubleshoot it. Of course he offered for us to send it in for service. We opted to wait for a patch. Bottom line, I was SHOCKED that they called at all. I did not put in a request for a call back and actually only had one quick chat with customer service online. He said they do not have a time for a fix but we will be notified through the console. There is a patch in the works. Thats all I've got.. Have a good night yall.

Welp, I just got a used one from a pawnshop, no more problems or anything. Didn’t feel like waiting for it anymore, been 2 weeks for me. They called me also the second day it happened asking the same thing, nothing new.

Is this fixed yet? It's been a week and I still can't use my PS4. I tried to play my games and they are all locked. Still getting error E-801809A8. Tried safe mode, didn't work. I can't activate my PS4 as my primary or restore my licenses or anything. Please help
