LAN setup, how?

please help as i have tried looking at older threads and they didnt help to much.

 

long story short, i have to tvs, 2 ps3s, 2 COD 4 games and a crossover cable, is that all i need for LAN gaming?

You cant connect the 2 PS3's directly to each other.  You'll need to connect them both to your router, either wired or wirelessy.

 

Dont use the crossover cable to connect the PS3 to your router as it's the wrong type.  You need a Straight-through ethernet cable, you should have had one that came with the PS3.

easist way is to get a switchor router and two cat5 cables. 

 

you can use a crossover if you want - it does not matter too mcuh these days - its usually the cheaper stuff that does not do 'autonegotiate' and as such your switch/router should notice the way its wired and sort itself out....
