Wireless BT Home Hub 'unable to find IP Address' making me want to die!

8 Replies 2780 Views Created 20-04-2008

Hi,

Right this lark is starting to really (insert swear word) me off! I am trying to connect my PS3 to my homehub but it can't find an IP Address! Does anyone know how I can sort this out? I have tried everything, but I'm not so good with all this technical stuff lol. If I don't get this online soon I may spontaniously combust!

Cheers

ok all you need to do is use a wep key due to i had this problem and all it was was that i had to high a security setting so just use a wep key by changing your settings and right down the code on a piece of paper then type it into your ps3 and anything else that is wireless

To find/change your WEP Key

1) goto www.whatismyip.com

2) copy and paste your IP into your internet explorer url bar

3) your settings should come up, click advanced, the default username / password is admin / admin

4) goto settings, it should tell you your WEP key in there

5) On the PS3 search for a wireless connection, click on yours, put your WEP key in and bingo

worked for me when i first got my ps3

[ Edited ]

I also have the BT homehub and i  get this as well when running the internet connection test in the Network options, it doesn't stop me doing anything though i can still play online etc.

Sometimes though when i sign in to the PSN it say's network not found and i have to switch the homehub off and then it works ok, this all started with Sony's previous firmware update the one before 2.3

With all the problems i have had with the PS3 and PS3 games online i am starting to think my PS3 is a anti gaming machine made my Mrs to drive me away from gaming forever.

Think i'll just load up snes9x or Steem and stay in the good old days.

BT fusion is for your mobile, you need the wep key that was supplied on a little card with your home hub

You need the WEP key, which is on the back of the Homehub.

When you search for networks on the PS3, find the one that relates to your Homehub

It'll ask for the WEP key - type this in - away you go.
