PSN keeps signing me out? Help??

Not sure if anyone else has already made a post about this but I'm kind of at a loss as what to do really.

Basically ever since the latest PSN update my account has been acting up. It signs me out a lot for no reason, it will sign me in for a few mins at a time and then just come up with an error code and log me out. At first I thought it must be my Internet connection as I'm also connected wirelessly but my internet connection on my computer seems fine =/ I'm with Virgin Media and currently have 50mb broadband if thats of any help.

 

Also reset my modem/router multiple times but doesn't seem to make any difference, it still logs me in upon start up then after few mins logs me out. I also noticed after Mass Effect 3 came out and I was playing online, my game froze quite a few times and had to hard reset. Not played much since then as i'm worried about losing data.

 

Something else I've noticed is it doesn't always load my friend list properly either, it will come up with only one person online and only show four of my friends when in actual fact quite a few people are online and i have more friends on my list than four lol

 

So just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this? And if so weather or not there is a way to fix it? Thanks!

I had a problem that sounds the same, Broadband was fine, other devices connected fine.
In the end I changed the wireless channel on my router and it's been fine since.

Before the update my connection was fine, but since the update i have also been experiencing the same.  Is periodically signing me out of psn.  Internect connection is fine also.

@DesertCat09: Glad to hear i'm not the only one, I just find it odd that before the update my connection was fine unless of course there was a problem with my internet but if that were the case all my devices would experience the same problem so you'd know it was the internet.
Its only my PS3 thats acting up though =/ which is why i'm wondering if it had something to do with the latest update

I know of others that are experiencing the same also, so it has to be because of the update.  My internet everywhere else round the house is fine.  Only been experiencing this since the  update, and i know that this is not the first time either.  This happened also last year after an update, and then the next thing i know it was suddenly fixed with another update.  I'm guessing now is just a waiting game to see if there will be a fix update.

 

Mind you saying that.... so far touch wood, today so far it's not done it.  It's kept me signed in, so maybe they have sorted it :/

Oh I see =/ i'm a mac user so i'm not too sure if the settings are the same.
I do agree with DesertCat09 though I really think its just the update thats caused this ><

the way i get access to it is by typing in on the virgin home page getting access to the virgin media super hub u should then get a link for advance settings click on that then click on the ip address that is highlighted it will then ask for user name and password which u can find on the side of the hub

Oh right i'll try and look into it but to be quite honest I really don't think its anything to do with my internet connection =/
Just to add to the problems as well, I just tried going on the PS store- I was on there maybe two mins when it seemed to stop loading the page I was on so I came off and went back on and it stopped functioning altogether. It then signed me out of my account and came up with the error code 8002AD23 (I think thats what it was)

Just really annoying me now >< I really want to play the new ME3 DLC when it comes out and its looking unlikely right now

Psn is fine if there are any problems it must coming from your end.

Just because other things work okay doesn't mean it's not a problem at your end as your other devices don't connect to psn for your to compare with.

I wasn't saying there was a specific problem with the PSN just that my account has been acting up SINCE the latest update, it was working fine before this with no problems. That's why i'm finding it a bit of a coincidence, its not just the fact its signing me out, it isn't loading my friends list properly and now i'm finding the PS store isn't working right either. Also I don't really get how earlier today it was somehow downloading the 'I am Alive' demo moments after it logged me out...would have thought that had it been totally my internet that it wouldn't have continued to download??

 

I know it could very well be my internet but...I just find it odd that this all started after the update ><

i definately have the same problem and same error after this update ill be on skype and turn on my playstaion and it drops the call cause the internet connection was lost yet im still signed in and about 5 minutes later it signs me out of psn and i cant play online so for some people maybe this update didnt mess up anything for you but im sure it has for a lot of us like four of my friends have the same problem.

If you still need to get into your router do it via the browser (safari) type the router address into the address bar at the top.
ie. for BT broadband it's usually 192.168.2.1 (whatever your default gateway is).

This will take you to your router home screen where you will need to log in and change the settings. (refer to your manual to log in!)

check either your router is properly configured or not. it will help you go to portforward.com to know how to configure your router.

i've tried everything, iv'e read all of these comments and tried everything. I even called up virgin media and made them give me the super hub, same problem, its not the Internet connection but the psn it self. The media server thing only works for a bit but then the psn signs out again and again. Someone let Sony know about the problem.

@Wrathchild68: Wireless connection, I have one of those 'home hub' things so router and modem all in one. My connection was fine before the update though and I've always been connected wirelessly prior to that =/

@el-ve: Probably a stupid question but how would I go about changing the wireless channel?? haha

to change your channel settings go in to your super hub advance settings then on the left hand side select wireless and from there u can change your channel

Where is my 'super hub advance settings'?? Theres nothing on my actual home hub and the only settings on the PS3 are the network settings which I can't find anything involving changing my wireless channel.

Sorry again if this sounds stupid ^^' i'm no tech expert lol

Do a Internet Connection Test under Network Settings your PS3 will show you the results Internet Connection Failed or Succeeded  Playstation Network Failed or Succeeded & so on.
