Burning PS1 Games

I have a PSP. I like my PSP. It's a great little PSP. My PSP plays PS1 games that I downloaded from the Playstation Network. Pretty awesome.

Now, sometimes, I don't like having to huddle over my little PSP screen because I don't want to enjoy the PS1 games I legally downloaded on a screen that small.

It is legal to do it. It's protected by fair use to create back-ups of the media you own. This includes ROMs. If it were illegal, then why can they put CD burners in your computer. Why do Windows Media Player and iTunes have an option to let you burn an audio CD if burning media on to a CD were illegal? To all you "law-abiding citizens:" I rest my case.

So, my question is this: Is it possible to back up the games I bought legally on a CD-R for use on my PS2? I'd be shooting myself in the foot to just go out and buy another copy of the same game I own already. Thank you

Re: Burning PS1 Games

Unfortunately you can't and even if you could your PS2 would tell you where to get off since all consoles have copy protection systems included (so your only option is to spend around £200 for a PS3 if you want to play them on a big screen).

You can't. You can get a TV out cable if you got a psp 2000 or 3000. It displays PSP games in the center of TV screen, but PS1 games play full screen

Re: Burning PS1 Games

If you have a physical copy of a game, you can legally make 1 back up for personal use. The moment you get rid of the physical copy, the back up would need to be destroyed. Of course, it is somewhat pointless since your not allowed to break through the copy protection on a console. It might be a good idea to buy a cable that you can plug into your TV from your PSP. I know you can buy them for the PSP Slim and PSP Go, I don't know about the original

Re: Burning PS1 Games

You can buy a PS3, which you can download the PS1 Classics to for no additional charge if you have already bought them... or, if you have a PSP 2000 / 3000 model, you can use a TV-Out cable to play on the tv
