I bought my son the PSP E1000 for Xmas along with a selection of games. One of the is Little Big Planet and as he has it on the PS3 he wanted extra add-ons to install on the PSP. However this is where the problem comes in. Even though we have downloaded the add-on, and I can see it on the memory stick, I'm unable to activate or use the add-on. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,
You need to activate the psp on your account that you downloaded the add-ons to. The only way you can do this on the E1000 is via USB and a PC. You have to have the latest version of media Go installed on your PC for this to work properly. First install media Go to your PC then proceed to the playstation store and sign into your account. This can be found under the "my accont tab". Now all that's left is to go to your active download list. now connect the psp to your PC via a USB lead. Click download on the add-ons you require and it will automatically activate the psp on your account providing you have a slot left. You get 2 slots now for portable downloads. It did used to be 5 so take this into consideration.

Have you made sure this is the only psp activated on your account? Theme's are different because usually they don't require activation to install. Could be a DLC glitch I've noticed this before with Little Big Planet DLC. It happened to me before with a regular psp 3000. Try uninstalling your new psp, then delete and re-install the DLC items.
