Tried to update Media Go from 1.4 to 1.5 and got an error message.
Un-installed everything (Media Go Video service, PlayStation Network Downloader, PlayStation Store and finally Media Go itself), re-downloaded 1.5 and tried again - still no luck - same error as when I tried to upgrade.
It keeps giving me the error:
"The files for installation requirement Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
Redistributable could not be found. The installation will now stop.
This is probably due to a failed, or cancelled download."
I click 'OK' and then I get this:
"There was an error installing the PlayStation(R)Network Downloader.
Please uninstall the PlayStation(R)Network Downloader using the Windows Control Panel
(via "Programs and Features") and then run the Media Go installer again."
All of which I've done several times now, and it still gives me the same error.
Anyone else getting this, or know of a solution?

Disable your virus protection software and try
that may work

I think you should update your Microsoft Visual C++. That may solve the problem.
Shouldn't all required files be in the install package, though? It is asking for the redistributable, and they're usually in the installer.
I already have Visual C++ 2008 on the system, anyway. Still, I'll try uninstalling and letting Windoze re-install it.

Okay, I uninstalled everything to do with Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable, went to the Microsoft website, re-downloaded and installed the base C++ 2008 package, and then let Windows Update apply all the updates it could find for the software.
Tried installing Media Go 1.5 again, and still the same problem as described above.
I even tried downloading and installing the PlayStation Network Downloader separately, but the Media Go install still stops and complains about the "missing" Visual C++ Redistributable.

The same happened to me!
I try to install Media Go 1.5 and the same message is always showing:
There was an error installing the Playstation(R)Network Downloader.
Please uninstall the Playstation(R)Network Downloader using the windows control panel and then run the Media Go installer again.
I already have Playstation(R)Network Downloader uninstalled but this message is always coming up!
Help Please!

I'm glad i'm not alone!
I previously had an issue with 1.4 where the updated Video Playback engine wouldn't install. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.
I suspect the System Registry entries have got messed up somewhere along the line, and the system still thinks that the PlayStation Network Downloader is installed, even though it isn't.

uninstall it. Download it and open the download folder. Run it as administrator
Already done. Makes no difference!
