Connection problems with a virgin super Hub

I'm currently rocking a 1003 pink psp that I got recently and after setting it up and trying to connect it to my router it goes through to testing but ultimately times out.

 

I'm fairly knowledgable in tech and I can't see what going wrong, the only thing I think it might be is a compatability or firmware update issue as it is running off ver. 2.81

 

I can't find any help via google or support

Unfortunately the (not so) super hub is the problem as from what I've heard the wireless on it is flakey and will constantly drop connections.
