I can certainly see the appeal of downloads but can also see the appeal of UMD. I've recently bought Gran Turismo off the PSN for £19.99 whereas in Game stores it still costs £24.99 and downloads are definetly faster in terms of loading times.

I've tested a UMD copy of Gran Turismo against a digital copy and loading time to the main game menu, including the start up movie is around 20 seconds faster on download than it is on UMD.

The only disadvantage to DD is that if you buy a game and don't like it your pretty much screwed, where with a UMD you can trade it in for something you prefer.

Re: Long live UMD's..

Fact of the matter is you are limited on price with downloads of single source if you shop around you can get UMD's a lot cheaper GRAN Turismo PSP special cheaper on play http://www.play.com/Games/PSP/4-/11828351/Gran-Turismo-PSP-Collector-Edition/Product.html

GTA Liberty/Vice city stories are in the 2 for £15 section so UMD drive psp's FTW plus they can download too if you have a large memory stick best of both worlds. :smileyhappy:
