Memory Cards with PSP

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a 'Micro SD to Pro Duo' adapter and then buying an 8GB micro sd card to use for my PSP as this is the cheapest option.

What class/speed Micro SD card do I need? I'll be playing games stored on the memory card on my PSP - i..e. PSone classics and Minis.

Can you still download stuff from the store even though the memory card isn't a 'magicgate'?

Thanks

Re: Memory Cards with PSP

yes they work fine,

the m2 memory cards with pro duo adapter work fine aswell,i`ve had no problems at all using the 16gb m2 cards.if i was you dude,i`d stick with the  black single card adapters, because the white adapters with twin memory card slots tend to break due to the plastic being so thin

Re: Memory Cards with PSP

But I read that if you use non 'magicgate' cards, you can get problems and you can't play/install games from the PS Store?

Re: Memory Cards with PSP

Is it? So you've used microSD cards and downloaded and installed games from the PS store? Any lag whilst playing?

Re: Memory Cards with PSP

yes i have them & use them without any problems,i`ve also bought games from the store & downloaded them onto the memory cards without any problems,& i`ve never noticed any games lag on sd/m2 memory cards,e.g. modnation racers i have on a 2gb sd card plays fine online & offline storymode,

motorstorm arctic edge seems to load slower on umd ,my m8 has it on a m2 memory card & it seems to load faster,& he got it off the store so i know for a fact theres no problems with those cards

Re: Memory Cards with PSP

just to clarify,i`ve found that games load quicker via memory card (sd/m2 via adapter)than umd games

Re: Memory Cards with PSP

Thanks. Maybe I'll just try an SD card for now then and see if it works ok.

Re: Memory Cards with PSP

I actually just bought a Lexar PSP 8GB card for £10.97 - don't like what I've read about using SD cards in adapters.

Re: Memory Cards with PSP

if your still worried about it ,just get a 2-4 gb used card off ebay ,for a few quid just to put your mind at rest, then get a bigger card when your positive about it,be carefull with the 32 gb cards as there`s a lot of dodgy ones that dont work at all
