Re: PSP Instructions: Updating and USB Mode

Hello

I am trying to update my psp 3000 But i keep on getting the Error:

" The Memory Stick could not be read. If you cancel, you may not be able to start the PSP system.
Check the Memory Stick is correctly inserted and then press x button (80010018)"

Can anyone help the memory card is a Sony original and works when saving and loading data. I have tried it with the AC adapter plugged in and not. Followed step by step instructions but still no luck.

Any help please :smileyfrustrated:?

Thank You

Re: PSP Instructions: Updating and USB Mode

it should be worth noting that you should ONLY obtain software updates from Sony's official webiste OR the Internet update's via PSP and software supplied on UMD's! Obtaining software from other places that seems to be legit can have a cause problems just like Jonmall's and Madstu's case.

Hey eseyemiti,

Sounds like your PSPgo isn't UK/PAL (please correct me if i am wrong), so when you try and register it online on the PlayStation UK (or any other European country for that matter), it will only show European model numbers, not any others.

When you say "Activate" to get free games, is this still the 10 free games offer? if so, follow these steps:

Please Note: Wireless internet access is required to access the "Sign-up" process.

1) Switch on your PSP

2) Go to "PlayStation Network" (far right) under the XMB (Xross Media Bar, basically the main menu)

3) Click on "Sign-up".

4) If you already have a PlayStation Network (PSN) Account, click use existing account. If you dont, then create new account.

5) If using an existing PSN Account, enter the details.

6) Log on

7) Your done

Hopefully, if this was a new PSPgo, and not pre-owned, you will be eligible for the free games offer, an email being sent to the email address linked with your entered PSN Account within approximately 30days.

Hope i've been of help
