PSP not working

The problem is that my PSP isn't working. Everytime I put in the disc it keeps on saying "Disk could not be read"

Does anyone knw what's going on. I tried looking though the Internet but didn't find anything to related to my situation. I never dropped my psp or anything.

My psp is the old brick ones (Model = 1004)
I've tried 4 games but I keep on getting the same message.

It is the laser mate. My friend has a white (1000) PSP a few months back he bought from Game. He got this message he managed to fix it via rubbing the lens with a cotton bud. But it broke again a few days later so he took it back.
