Sony + Piracy = epic fail

I have been trying to get an answer to this on the blog but they keep ignoring my post.

Basically, how come Sony can’t crack down on piracy on the PSP?? I bought Resistance Retribution the other week and it is an awesome game. I completed it and am now going online. Basically the way piracy is affecting me here is I was just playing a game and loads of people are definitely using hacked PSPs cos their character was going invisible/invincible.

How come Sony can’t stop hacked PSPs going online? Surely they could just require users to upgrade to OFW 6.20 before playing when they sign in and try to play like on a PS3?

I have pre-ordered FTB3, if I find hackers on that game I want my money back for my PSP and library of games (I have had the console a looong time so this will be expensive) as the console is not fit for purpose.

Does anyone else agree that piracy is killing an otherwise immense platform and that sony appear to be doing nothing to combat this?

What is the point of playing online against noobs who have hacked their PSP to be invulnerable??

Another example is why can't they check the PSP firmware before it does anything online, even the browser and force an upgrade?

What exactly are Sony playing at here? Piracy isn't happening on PS3 from what I can understand, how come they can't replicate the same protection systems on PSP?

Re: Sony + Piracy = epic fail

The fact is their not using hacked PSPs but there is a cheat device available for the PSP although I don't know why sony isn't taking stronger action on this as cheating in online games in the PS2 days was frowned on and sony at least made it so cheat devices couldn't be used with those games.
