What to do?

Hi,

In our family we have two PSPs, one PSP 1000 and one PSP 3000 that replaced a broken 1000.

Recently, the 3000 broke. The square, circle etc buttons did not respond and about a week later, the screen had weird lines across it that made it look sort of... retro?

I phoned Sony and they offered a like-for-like replacement for £60. However, I had already taken off the void warranty sticker earlier on in the PSPs life. Should this make a difference out of warranty? I presume not.

Also, I have other options. I could wait for the PSP E-1000s release, and hopefully recoup most of the cost selling the faulty 3000 on eBay. Wi-fi and mono sound are no biggies, I have Media Go installed on Parallels and use headphones mst of the time anyway.

The third option is just make do with the 1000 and use the PS3 (even) more!

My fourth option is probably the most expensive. I was going to buy a Vita anyway, but maybe I should buy two, not only to play multiplayer on, but to replace the 3000?

The last option is to get it repaired by a third party, but I've no idea how much that would cost. Any ideas?

I'm sort of stuck. If you had these options, what would you do??

- PSP 1000 Piano Black + 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
- PS2 SCPH-70003
- PS3 320GB Black

If i was in this situation then i would probably wait for the PSP E-1000 to be released, on the plus side, if you download games from the PS Store through Media Go, then those games will be backwards compatible with the PS Vita, if you do get one in the future. :smileyhappy:
