Hey
I have just purchased final fantasy vii for my psp-1003 but it doesnt seem to work, and is saying "this game cannot be started, the data is corrupted"
I have the newest system software version 6.60 and have a 8gb memory card. I have also re formatted the memory card once and tried to download the data again but the extact same thing happened.
also i downloaded metal gear solid from the psone classics to the same memory card and it works totally fine..... very confused

Ive never had that problem, but if u have a PC and use MediaGo, thats a lot easier.

I have have had this problem with FF7 on my PSP E-1003 also; I have downloaded it from Media Go and my PS3, and still no joy.
Is this an issue with the 6.60 PSP system software? If it is then Sony need to let people know on the game's requirements list so people know what they're getting. I'll probably avoid downloading PSone games for the moment until a fix arrives (or doesn't, given the PS Vita is on the way).

well i`ve got final fantasy 5 up to 9 & they`re all ok,are you using it on the same account as you downloaded it from, cos that can cause the psp to give you that error message, other than that,i would try & reformat the memory card a couple of times again & have another go,
come to think of it i had a similar situation on my nephews psp xmas time when trying to use music unlimited,& i had to reformat a brand new 8gb sony magic gate 2 memory card 3 times(twice on a pc & once using the psp format utility) before it would work ,hope that helps
